HOW DOES BOTCHED INK® REMOVE TATTOOS?
Botched Ink is an advanced professional only salt and saline tattoo removal solution. Uniquely, they added some other ingredients to help the skin dry out super quick, within an hour in most cases!
So when Botched Ink is implanted into a tattooed area, the skin containing pigment also dries out, removing it during the skins natural healing process. Each time a treatment is done, more pigment is removed, it doesn't matter if the pigment is deep or superficial, it'll work!
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
During your initial consultation we will take a thorough tattoo/pmu history, how many treatments and top ups you've had, when was the last treatment etc. This helps us understand your tattoo and skin better and advise.
As a guide, we always recommend a client mentally and financially commits to a course of 3 treatments, then we can assess how easily the pigment is removing and form the next plan.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Actual hands on treatment time is about 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of eyebrow areas being worked on. Add to this numbing cream and consultation time, a little over an hour total is booked out.
How long the whole eyebrow tattoo removal process takes though is unknown. We need to pace sessions to preserve the area for future tattooing, so depending on how much unwanted tattoo needs removing, this may be 6 months to a couple of years before new work can be added.
IS BOTCHED INK® TREATMENT PAINFUL?
For most of the treatment, you will feel no discomfort thanks to the numbing cream applied beforehand. Towards the end you'll feel a short and mild sting though. This sting is good! We want you to feel it as this tells us the Botched Ink serum has soaked in sufficiently!
With Botched Ink the pH is adjusted to a skin friendly 5.5, other types of salt removal feel like an eye-watering burn. Before Botched Ink came along, saline tattoo removal was a notoriously uncomfortable treatment.
IS MICROBLADING BETTER THAN TATTOOING/MACHINE METHODS?
Two methods, same result! Botched Ink was formulated to soak into the skin really easily using either method. At The Louska Beauty Clinic, I use the manual Microblade method of Botched Ink removal, as I only do manual Eyebrow Microblading too and not machine.
DO I NEED TO SHAVE MY BROWS OFF?
NO! Thankfully... Much like when I do Eyebrow Microblading, during an eyebrow tattoo removal procedure I can easily work alongside your eyebrow hair. And you may even find that Botched Ink procedures even wake up dormant hair follicles!
WILL I HAVE THICK UGLY SCABS?
Uniquely for saline tattoo removal, Botched Ink dries out skin so super quickly that it doesn't have time to start its natural wound healing response; this means you don't get a traditional type of scab. A Botched Ink scab is just a thin layer of dried out skin and pigment, it even looks a nice brown colour for many people!
IS THERE EYEBROW TATTOO REMOVAL AFTERCARE TO FOLLOW?
Yes. It's super simple though and will be covered during your consultation. You just need to put one application of the aftercare we supply, 48 hours after treatment, and that's it! Thanks to Botched Inks unique formula, the skin is left dry and the scab thin, meaning there's less for you to worry about when it comes to aftercare vs other removal systems.
WHO CANNOT HAVE BOTCHED INK® DONE?
• Anyone with skin conditions affecting the brow area or know scarring issues (i.e. keloids)
• Anyone with immune disorders, blood disorders, or Diabetes should consult their Doctors first
• Those on chemo or radiation therapy must wait 6 months after completely finishing treatment (in the case of life-long chemo medications, consult your Doctor first)
• Any persons pregnant or breastfeeding (the process and products are not harmful, but hormone levels and other factors are not conductive to a good long-lasting healed result)
If in doubt about anything in your medical history... don't book your main appointment until after you have already had your Consultation & Patch Test appointment (this is mandatory for all new clients). The consultation process should ensure any possible contraindications are flagged and dealt with so that only eligible clients receive treatment.
