What Is Plasma Fibroblast?

Updated: Jan 24, 2023

Plasma Fibroblast is a skin tightening treatment that leaves little dots on the surface of the skin that disappear as the skin heals. It provides incredible, natural looking anti-ageing results, without the need for excessive and painful recovery times such as what is involved with surgical procedure. Non-surgical treatments are growing more and more in popularity thanks to these and other benefits.

HOW DOES PLASMA FIBROBLAST WORK? A specialist Plasma Fibroblast device (sometimes known as a "plasma pen") with a metal probe or needle is used to ionize atmospheric gas between the prob tip and the gasses that the skin naturally emits. This forms an electrical arc/plasma charge which ablates the skin surface at that spot (where the dot forms) and induces collagen production and the healing processes of the skin. Plasma technicians are trained to create the dots in certain patterns around lines and wrinkles to get the best skin forming results.

HOW LONG DOES IS TAKE TO HEAL AFTER PLASMA FIBROBLAST? The little dot scabs will usually come off within a week or two. However, skin isn't considered fully healed until around 12 weeks time, as this is how long the full healing and collagen production cycles take to complete in the deeper levels of the skin. HOW LONG DO PLASMA FIBROBLAST RESULTS LAST? Results are permanent. However, as with all procedures, it cannot prevent further ageing as time goes on. To get the longest lasting results, it is recommended to live a healthy lifestyle, keep a good skincare routine, and schedule regular anti-ageing facial treatments (such as LED Light Therapy, needle-free Mesotherapy and RadioFrequency).

IS PLASMA FIBROBLAST PAINFUL?

Everyone has different levels of sensitivity. Numbing cream is applied to treatment areas and left to work for plenty of time prior to treatment. Some individuals says they can barely feel anything at all, whereas some do feel discomfort. Thankfully for those that do, Louska at The Louska Beauty Clinic in Worsbrough is a skilled professional and is fairly quick during the procedure section of the appointments.

IS PLASMA FIBROBLAST BETTER THAN BOTOX? These are two completely different services than work in totally different ways. It can actually be very beneficial to have both together (Botox must be performed at least 3 weeks prior to the Plasma appointment). Botox works on the muscles underneath the skin, relaxing the muscles can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help prevent further lines from forming, however it cannot get rid of stationary and deep lines. Plasma Fibroblast actually tightens and rejuvenates to skin itself, and has no affect on the muscle underneath.

DOES PLASMA FIBROBLAST CAUSE SCARRING? As long as your service is carried out by a trained and qualified professional, and you follow all of the aftercare advice, there is no significant risk of any scarring. Although certain skin types aren't suitable due to the risk of hypopigmentation.
